We're in good shape to pay our insurance in full. Piotr will plan to pay the whole year at once with out new insurance so that we may realize the savings that come with this.

We received a $200 donation on behalf of Austin VanderPlaat. By systemswestengineers.com to paypal. Thank you Austin!

Karen did a bank run on 12/17 and deposited $105 in membership cash deposits and withdrew the $10 she was owed for the election. On 12/21 she approved a Broadcom corporate contribution.

Shop status

Ben visited to drop off a pair of new plugin strips on 1/3. Karen discovered that the west-wall power strip has failed unrecoverably so she headed up an effort to secure a replacement. We acquired a pair of 12 plug strips that will go in its place.

In regards to the food situation, the member we reached out to has done much to meet the requests from the board to remove the food and food prep infrastructure per last month's meeting. Our thanks go out to this member for their understanding, we will need to plan on getting some extra cleaning done both to follow up on the food that was prepared there previously as well as the power outage on the west wall which took out the refrigerators.

The dumpster lock is still there!

Old Business/Action Item Review

COVID-19 status review - Open Hack closure status

CDC has issued a notice for Lane County recommending masks indoors. It is not a mandate, but a science-based recommendation. There have been no confrontations reported at the shop under our current policy requesting people wear masks when possible and respect the right of others to wear masks without criticism. We will continue to recommend mask usage.

Karen will update the website to reflect the new CDC guidelines and update the date on the short notice on the front page

Done.

Ben will contact the membership to see if anyone is interested in cleaning up and configuring the 3d printer for checkout

In work.

Karen will contact Bee for a status update on the blinds

Karen reached out to the member and received an update. The member has encountered some obstacles with constructed parts for the blinds and it seems to have stalled. We are passing eight months without any blinds and this continues to be a source of frustration.

We brainstormed some ideas for how to deal with the issue ranging from having the blinds professionally replaced to putting in vinyl lettering to constructing a member-created mosaic.

Karen suggested a hybrid approach of putting in a vinyl logo and then frosting the window from the inside. We're going to pursue this on a window-by-window basis.

ACTION: Piotr will inform the blinds group that we're going to pursue a new course per the previous conversation.

Karen will put together a newsletter/announcement seeking volunteers as well as sharing photos about Kevin

Karen finished the Kevin task and then asked for volunteers to work on the Laser Shark repair team per the voted priority to do so.

ACTION: Ben will Send out a prompt to the membership seeking someone to take on the task.
