Call to order

Motion: Sam moved that the Eugene Makerspace Board of Directors Approve the agenda as presented.

The motion was seconded by Andrew.

  • Previous action to update members about recent location hunting news: Grimes, 28th St, etc.:
  • Ongoing partnerships and conversations with Bright Parade, Shift Cycles, ReStore.
    • We are listed as a partner with the Bright Parade, showing up in ads, etc.
  • We are working with Mark Davis and his “Westish” space, which is hosting our Bright Parade float build.

New space location-hunting report

  • 3890 West 1st status and next steps: We have signed a 1-year lease at this location. It is approximately 1800 square feet, with both front-office and warehouse space.

New business

  • ACTION: Suzi will compile notes with main takeaways from our conversations with other makerspaces.
  • Accepting donations at events
    • Robot arm is electronically & mechanically working. But needs more software work to be event-ready
  • We’d like to re-establish contact with the Eugene Science Center (after this rush of events)
  • We have registered euglink.org to host a URL shortener (for NFC, QR codes). A container has been prepared based on the open source Kutt project and needs review and deploying when time permits. Github repo is at: https://github.com/sfoster/kutt
  • Motion: Sam moved that the Eugene Makerspace Board of Directors proposes a budget $200 towards the Bright parade float build.

Re-opening preparedness

  • Lock system: Thomas researching some options for RFID locks with access control
  • Updating mission statement, **policies** and other about-us and how-we-roll documents
    • Suzi has created an EMS Revitalization Plan document, which has been the jumping off point for discussions about code of conducts and other expectations of members
  • IT tasks:
    • Can we share the AWS credentials to spread the load of the various IT tasks we have coming up?
    • ACTION: Andrew, will we need a staging server so we can experiment and have work-in-progress for these website changes without messing up the live site.
    • ACTION: Suzi will make first pass on Google Sheets checklist of To-Do items..
  • MemberMatters
    • Instance stood up by Rob and rrix. Andrew also investigating.
  • ACTION: Troy will create letter soliciting donations..
    • Will get feedback from Board before sending to companies.
